I made this piece to show a piece of the importance of black lives matter. It is important to me because. For this project, I already had an idea in mind and then I went and did some research on it. In this piece I used paper mache and acrylic paint. My original idea was to make 10 tiny people kneeling and holding signs that said things like “black lives matter” but that was a little ambitious. It then evolved to 5 people and eventually my final idea was one person on a painted canvas. Doing multiple layers of paper mache was a little challenging. There were some air bubbles and not completely covered tape. Because I had to make the brown color that I used on my person, it was hard to get enough of the right color. I am most proud of how my work ended up coming out. I wasn’t entirely sure in the beginning steps but now I love it
