Chloe A.

The title of my Final Project painting is "The idea." This painting has a backstory to it, and it  is a lot to talk about. Let me break it down a little bit. The big glowing orb that the girl (Hazel) is holding in the painting is my mind. She takes care of my mind, provides me with ideas, help, and more. She understands that I am an artist, and she wants to help me as much as possible so I can be successful with my work. In this painting, "my mind" is glowing, which means that my mind finally produced a strong idea. That is why this painting is called, "The Idea." This piece is just so important to me because sometimes I feel like there is someone/something working in my mind helping me whenever I get stuck. This idea for my painting did not take too long to produce, I did not have any ideas from other people. That is why my painting is so unique and it has a reasonable background story to it. A technique that I have with painting is imagining the canvas is actually a piece of drawing paper. I am very used to drawing other than painting, and I learned how to take  somewhat control of what I am painting, due to how much I draw. I am happy that my idea did not change a lot while I was painting, I just went with the flow and made minor changes if necessary. During this period of painting, I encountered so many times where I wanted to scrap my project and start over, which was difficult for me. However, I decided not to give up, I kept pushing myself to keep going. Because I believe that an artist should never give up on something that is important to them. I love how the shading looks in my painting. Shading is one of my most favorite and skilled techniques that I personally retain. I hope one day I can go far with my art, because it is a huge passion for me, and I can never lose my talent.
